Heavy rains last night in Douala has claim the life of a 1 year old baby in  the Makepe neighbourhood.

Neighbours say the baby was swept by torrent this morning after the heavy rains, precisely at école de la différence.

The 1 year old baby was trailing the mother who was going to have her bath, before being swept by the torrent.

Makepe is a neighbourhood usually characterised by floods during Heavy down pour.  Homes are usually inundated rendering many families homeless, while Streets are transformed into streams.

Each year the heavy rains seem to become more deadly and do more damage.
