While addressing Journalist, the CEO of UCMAS Cameroon Oscar Mills, stated that the motivation of organising the press briefing was to sensitize the general public of an existing Brain development program for children, which seeks to provide well-rounded education to develop children’s concentration, creative thinking, memory power, logical reasoning abilities, and to boost children’s confidence to face life’s challenges.
Mr Mills also revealed that the center is braising up for national and international competitions in the months ahead, beginning with a national inter-school quiz for all schools that will be on the program from September, and schools that are currently running the program. Winners of this national quiz according to Mr Mills, will represent Cameroon in UCMAS upcoming international competitions scheduled for Malaysia and Dubai this year.
In order to corroborate the organisation’s mission, children of the centre responded to questions posed to them with speed and accuracy to demonstrate that their memory power, comprehension abilities, and logical thinking are of a different realm. In fact while demonstrating, the children outwit the fastest person on the scene using a calculator in providing the correct answer.
On his part, the CEO of UCMAS Ghana Roger Ohemeng, underscored the need for school proprietors to introduce the brain development program in the educational system, and for parents to register their children in UCMAS training centres.
“We are calling on people to partner with us so that we can take this UCMA program to all parts of Cameroon, we cannot do that alone” He said. “ So we need people who have passion for education, and people who have passion for children to come and be our partners, so that together we will be able to work and put the brand UCMAS and the Cameroonian child to a different level”, Mr Ohemeng added.
