This Wednesday afternoon, in the Unity Palace, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa, François Louncény Fall,met with President Paul Biya.
In front of the media present after the meeting, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations described his meeting with Paul Biya as “frank and fruitful.”
One which made it possible for him to have “an overview of the political, economic and social situation not only of Cameroon but also from the whole sub-region”, with a particular focus on security and integration issues.
In a context marked by the fight against COVID-19, he said:
“The Head of State told me at length, about all the measures that Cameroon is taking to deal with this pandemic. I take this opportunity to declare the full support of the United Nations to all initiatives that are taken in this direction”-He said.
Referring to the security situation in the North-West and South-West regions, Mr. François Louncény Fall, said that he found in the Head of State, “an attentive observer and advised on the challenges facing Cameroon and on the Government’s measures to strengthen Cameroon’s stability and cohesion ” .
In conclusion, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations affirmed that he left this audience “comforted, knowing that the wisdom of the President will continue to help and guide the actions which are carried out so that Cameroon remains a united and stable country.”
