Organization activities of the AFCON 2021 Draw in Cameroon, have reached fever pitch a day to the event which will take place at the Yaounde Conference Center, 17 August.
Stakeholders have congratulated the key actors concerned like CAF experts and CRTV personnel, who have made sure all is set for the draw scheduled for 7:00 pm this Tuesday. “We are satisfied with the professionalism and rigour which has enabled us to deliver within the expected time frame” Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi.
The Minister of Communication Rene Emmanuel Sadi, also applauded the success recorded so far with the organization. He said he is impressed with the progress made “What I have seen is impressive. The dispositions made by CAF experts with incontestable expertise and a remarkable collaboration of the CRTV. I think we are satisfied with what is going on. It is National pride, and pride for CRTV who have about 95 percent of the personnel participating” Rene Emmanuel Sadi, after visiting the Yaounde Conference Center, venue of the event
The draw was initially scheduled for 25 June, but a postponement was requested by CAF due to logistical reasons related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
During one of CAF evaluation visits to Cameroon ahead of the draw, Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said the Head of State Paul Biya, gave instructions for a spectacle that will portray an excellent image of Africa in Cameroon through capacities, resources, competencies and talent.
After the draw, Cameroon will host the continental tournament (AFCON) from 9 January to 6 February 2022, with 24 nations to participate.
