AFCON Cote d’Ivoire: Senegal coach rejoins team after being hospitalized

The Senegalese Football Federation has announced that Aliou Cisse is regaining his health after he was hospitalized following the victory over Cameroon on Friday.

The Teranga Lions defeated Cameroon 3-1 in their second Group C match, thereby consolidating their lead with six points. The coach did not show signs of any health complications during the game.

“The Senegalese Football Federation informs the public that coach Aliou Cisse was put under care by the medical staff and the services of the Yamoussoukro hospital due to a mild infection on Friday, January 19 in the evening after the match Senegal – Cameroon” The Senegalese FA said in a statement.

The communique indicated that the examinations carried out were assuring, noting that he had rejoined the team.

Senegal have already qualified for the next round of the tournament, while Cameroon (1 point) and Guinea (4 points), are yet to seal their spots. Gambia are last in the group with no point.
