Africa’s richest woman Isabel Dos Santos who is also the daughter of Angola’s president has become the topic of the internet as her husband, business man Sindika Dokolo is faced with a 1 year jail sentence for fraud in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The accused told the BBC that the conviction was politically motivated and that he will appeal against the one-year jail term.
Mr Dokolo and his co-accused and brother Luzolo boycotted the court hearing and neither of them were present due to a property dispute.
Reports have been showing that the accused who is also an art collector has repeatedly criticised the DR Congo’s president Joseph Kabila and signaled his support for opposition Moise Katumbi.
Many consider this discontent for the current Congolais president as motive for his fraud actions.
