The Archbishop of the Yaounde Metropolitan Archdiocese, Mgr Jean Mbarga, has urged Christians to emulate the ways of the Virgin Mary who “did what man must do in the society to ensure unity”.
Roman Catholics in Cameroon and across the world, celebrated the feast of the Assumption on Tuesday, August 15, with the faithful honouring the mother of Jesus who is believed to have gone to heaven body and soul.
Archbishop Jean Mbarga said “she was a great model for humanity”.
“She tried to observe the social project of God by being a great personality, social mother, family mother. She was an economic and political mother” the prelate added.
He said the Assumption is a great success, calling on all Christians to imitate Mary “as much as possible”.
