Bishop Jean Marie Balla to be laid to rest today

The late Bishop of Bafia Jean Marie Benoit Balla, began his journey to eternity on Wednesday with the removal of his mortal remains from the Yaounde General hospital mortuary.
A short Mass in his honour was made at the Mortuary by the Bishop of Yaounde, His Lordship Jean Mbarga, who prayed God to receive the body of the Prelate and grant him eternal life.
He also called on Catholic Christians to be prayerful as they go through challenges in life.
Present at the mortuary were a college of Bishops, Christians, government Ministers and the Minister of Justice Laurent Esso, who represented the head of state.
From the mortuary, the corpse was taken to Our Lady of Victory Cathedral in Yaounde for another funeral mass, after which it was transported to Bafia with a brief stop at the Ebebda River for Christians to wave their last good bye.
While at Bafia, a series of funeral masses were held at the Bafia Cathedral after every three hours from (6pm, 9pm, 12am, 3am, and 6am).
The late Bishop will finally be laid to rest this Thursday in Bafia.
It is worth mentioning that the rider of the Motorcade which led the convoy of the late Bishop of Bafia during the corpse removal in Yaounde died while executing his duty.
Adjutant Buba Gautier is reported to have violently hit a Toyota Tercel on his way, leaving his motorcade completely destroyed.
He was transported to the Efok hospital after the accident, where he gave up the ghost.
