Buea shooting: Separatist fighters say ghost town must be respected

Civilians in various neighbourhoods in Buea were attacked by separatist fighters on Monday January 29, with at least one person dead and property destroyed.

The gunmen burned cars, and paraded the streets saying they are “fearless”.

In one of the videos made at the Molyko CheckPoint, they said the cars they burned were the ones of those who did not respect the Monday ghost town.

For the past years in the crisis rocking the Northwest and Southwest regions, the fighters have succeeded to impose the Monday ghost town aimed at crippling activities.

The effects have been devastating on the population of both regions who had started to gradually operate normally on Mondays.
