Two people have been reported dead, following a car accident which occurred along the Tiko-Mutengene road around Likomba, a locality in Fako Division, South West region of Cameroon.
Sources say the accident occurred after midday on Wednesday, and was a collision between a beverage truck and a private vehicle in an attempt to overtake.
The two casualties (a male and a female), died on the spot.
This adds to the number of deads recorded in some major highways in Cameroon in recent weeks, following a series of car accidents.
In the South West region alone, over 20 people have dropped dead as a result of car accidents, with the most casualties recorded in the early hours (around 4 am) of Saturday August 19, 2017, at mile 29, where more than 15 people died in a ghastly car accident along the Buea-Muyuka highway.
