Presidents of Elite football clubs in Cameroon, have been given an order to submit proof of salary payment to their players within 72 hours.
Information about this move was contained in a document released by Cameroon’s National Syndicate of Footballers (SYNAFOC) on Friday, April 22.
The syndicate’s president Geremi Njitap, said they had reached out to FECAFOOT president Samuel Eto’o, through a correspondence on April 14, informing him of the disturbing working conditions of players and the delay by some clubs in the payment of player salaries.
“In response to the correspondence on 21 April 2022, the president Samuel Etoo informed SYNAFOC that he had asked club presidents to produce proof of payment of the salaries of players within 72 hours” a section of the SYNAFOC communique reads.
All players have been asked to redouble their vigilance and not give in to any pressure to sign any document that does not reflect the reality of their salary situation.
