The government of Cameroon has been called upon to intensify the fight against the consumption of tobacco-related products such as shisha.
The Administrative Assistant of the Coalition for Tobacco-Related Products in Cameroon Tchemko Edith, made the call during a press conference in Yaounde, where emphasis was laid on taxation of tobacco-related products.
The respect of state regulations against tobacco and the conformity to international laws related to the distribution of tobacco by the government were also highlighted as some of the things that need to be closely checked.
This comes at a time when the consumption of Shisha is taking different twists as its content is now composed of all sorts of substances including restricted drugs. This is considered as a threat to the fight against drug consumption in the country.
