The Minister of Public Health Dr. Manaouda Malachie, has given clarification on the recent order passed in Cameroon, relating to the payment of a PCR test by persons traveling into and out of the country.
Dr. Manaouda Malachie said “the PCR test will never be obligatory for persons leaving the Cameroon territory, except in respect of the exigencies put in place by the country of destination”.
Following the Minister’s communique of June 13, many had understood that the presentation of the PCR test was obligatory for everyone.
“I have the honour to remind you that…, to leave the national territory, the obligatory presentation of the PCR tests is required only from passengers whose final destination is a country that requires a presentation of a PCR test against COVID-19” Minister Manaouda pointed out.
Passengers whose list of required travel documents shall include a PCR test, will have to pay 30.000 FCFA to obtain it.
