Cameroon Intermediate Lions qualify for CHAN 2018

Two second half goals from Ahmed Ngoundji and Messi Buli against Sao Tome and Principe on Saturday, booked a place for Cameroon’s Intermediate Lions for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon recorded a 4-0 aggregate score, following a two leg qualifier game in which they defeated Sao Tome and Principe 2-0 in both legs.
Cameroon joins a total of 16 teams expected to qualify and take part in the tournament, including host nation Kenya.
Next year’s tournament which will be in its 5th edition is scheduled to take place between January 11-2 February 2018 in Kenya.
Unlike the African Cup of Nations, competing national teams in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) must be composed of players based in their respective countries, who play in their country’s domestic league.
The teams will come from the Northern Zone, West Zone-A, West Zone-B, Central Zone, Central East Zone and Southern Zone.
