Brigadier General; Melingui Nouma; South West Military Commander revealed to TV5 Monde that former Cameroonian military men and foreign(white) mercenaries are among those training members of the ‘Ambazonian army.’ He said:
“We know that they are trained by foreigners, including some white mercenaries whose nationality I would not mention. There are also some Cameroonians, some deserters from our army who have joined them and who train these people. It is likely to turn completely into an asymmetrical conflict where we face, not a regular army, but hordes that leave from left to right, cause a few disasters and then retreat to their rear base.”
According to military sources, Dadi, a village in the Manyu Division of the South West region of Cameroon, was being used as a military base for the Ambazonian army. Weapons were found by the military in the village.
Achille Binong, a police officer in Dadi told TV5 Monde that the weapons they found are local hunting guns but which are very dangerous at close range. (We recall that so far, over 16 military men have been killed by the ‘secessionists’ using these artisanal guns since November.)
The Cameroonian army dismantled the military base of the Ambazonian army in the village, killing a couple of secessionists, this caused nearly all the inhabitants of the village to flee to Nigetia. The village is now reportedly empty.
“My heart is broken. I pray to God and ask Him to make sure that all these problems are over and that everyone can regain their peace of mind. Whether we have to eat or not, everyone should be able to stay in their home. I pray for that …” – An old lady who was abandoned in the village of Dadi as she was not fit enough to follow the others to escape to neighboring Nigeria tells TV5 Monde.
