Creativ Talent is a cultural talent show for acapella artistes and instrumentalists. It is organized by PSC Prod. It is unique, not only in the cultural aspect of showcasing Cameroonian talent and art, but also in that 95% of the show is done online.
It was launched several months ago, and interested candidates were required to send in videos of them singing in acapella groups or playing an instrument. Candidates submitted from 6 regions of the country; Littoral, South West, North West, West, Center and Extreme North. 453 entries were made and 36 are still in the competition as the pre-selection is still ongoing; 11 acapella groups, 8 solo instrumentalists and 17 vocalists.
To attain the 36 candidates so far, 2 pre-selection phases were made that required the candidates to send in videos of them singing or playing to a Cameroonian song. The 3rd and second to the last phase of the edition is on-going, which is voting for the finalist. This voting would take place online exclusively. After this phase, the last phase would be the live performances which would take place on the 10th December 2016. Votes for this phase would comprise of 50% input from the jury and 50% input from the audience through online interactions and live streaming.
The jury members are high profiled Cameroonian artistes:
- Serge Maboma– Bass guitarist and Leader of the group Macase, with a career span of 20years
- Alain Rodrigue Oyono– Saxophonist, has worked with the likes of Manu Dibango, Henri Dikongue, Alpha Blundi, Tiken Jah, Lukua Kanza, Bebe Manga and more
- Arnaud Essono– Choir master and vocal coach for 17 years now
- Mabel Fa– Singer/songwriter
- Bonnard Chouagweu– Musician, singer/songwriter
- Mathieu Brisset– Sound Engineer, musician and guitarist
- Stephan Fortin– Musician, specialized in drums and percussion, audio visual engineer
- Sammiy-Cliff Kuete Jou– Bass guitarist, with over 20 years experience. Worked with Papa Wemba, Awilo Longomba and many others.
