The delegation of athletes representing Cameroon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, is getting into the competition with a boost in morale, after Prince Charles visited the group, to give them words of encouragement ahead of the event’s opening.
37 Cameroonian athletes in 10 disciplines are expected to join over 5000 participants from 71 other countries that will be competing.
The sporting event which has been existing for close to a century, is an international multi-sport gathering which brings together athletes from Commonwealth nations across the world.
This year’s edition which already kicked off, July 28, will run till Monday August 8.
Team England’s Alex Yee (triathlon) is the first athlete to bag a medal at the ongoing competition.
