Starting from tomorrow March 18th, the following measures will take effect to manage the Coronavirus Outbreak in Cameroon. 10 cases have been registered in the country so far so the government has put together these 13 strong measures to fight it:
1.The land, air and sea borders of Cameroon will be closed: all passenger flights from abroad are suspended, with the exception of cargo flights and ships carrying products of current consumption as well as essential goods and materials, whose layovers will be limited and supervised; Cameroonians wishing to return to their country will have to get attached to our various diplomatic representations.
2- Isuance of entry visas to Cameroon at the various airports is suspended
3-All public and private training establishments belonging to different levels of education, from kindergarten to higher education, including vocational training centers and Higher institutions will be closed
4-Gatherings of more than fifty (50) people are prohibited throughout the national territory
5- School and university competitions are postponed, like the FENASCO games and university games;
6-Drinking spots, restaurants and places of leisure will be systematically closed from 6 PM under the control of the administrative authorities
7-A system for regulating consumer flows will be set up in markets and shopping centers
8-Urban and interurban travels should only take place when absolutely necessary
9-Bus, taxi and motorbike drivers are asked to avoid overloading on public transport: law enforcement agents will ensure that
10-Private health facilities, hotels and other accommodations, vehicles, and the specific equipment necessary for the implementation of the COVID-19 pandemic response plan in Cameroon may be requisitioned as necessary, at the request of the competent authorities
11-Public administrations should favor electronic means of communication and digital tools for meetings likely to gather more than ten (10) people;
12-Missions abroad of members of the Government and agents of the public and parapublic sector are suspended
13-People are invited to strictly observe the hygiene measures recommended by the World Health Organization, namely to wash their hands regularly with soap, to avoid close contact such as shaking hands or kissing.
