The 62nd edition of the Cameroon Cup Final has been won by Coton Sport of Garoua in a 1-0 victory over Bamboutos of Mbouda.
Marou Souaibou’s last-minute goal at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, Sunday October 2, handed the Cotonites their 7th title after an eight-year wait.
Both teams demonstrated the desire to break the silence from the first half of the game, but there was a deficiency in finishing.
The intensity rose in the second half, with both sides making more attempts.
Remarkable instances included a blunder by the Coton Sport goalkeeper in the 59th minute, a 66th minute header from Coton Sport forward Patient Wassou, which narrowly missed the target, among other moments which could have been very decisive for both sides.
Bamboutos of Mbouda now count two appearances in the Cameroon Cup final, but will have to try again for a first title.
The Mangwa Boys lost against Apejes in 2016.
