The Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji, has called on every personnel of his Ministry to ensure that they and their family members are vaccinated against the COVID-19 pandemic.
He officially launched a two-day vaccination campaign on Monday, September 2, in Yaounde. During the ceremony, over 300 persons in the central services of the Ministry of Territorial Administration were targeted with Atanga Nji stressing the importance of the initiative.
A team of health experts from the extended vaccination campaign programme administered the vaccines to the workers starting with the Secretary-General. They all had the liberty to choose between the Johson and Johnson and the Sinopharm vaccines.
“We have encouraged family heads. Let all husbands bring their wives and wives bring their husbands and even those who don’t have any legal status. If you have a boyfriend or girlfriend you bring so that we can protect the environment. I think president Paul Biya made it very clear and the Prime Minister reiterated it” Minster Atanga Nji stated.
“Those who even do cleaning and other jobs and who are surrounding us should also go for the same exercise. All those stories that people are telling about the vaccine that if you go for the vaccine, you’ll have a sim card which will be introduced into your system and if you go left or right they can spy on you, or women will not do this or that, I don’t want to get into those things” the Minister ended.
He said everyone should take the vaccination as a personal obligation because it serves as protection and equally secures the environment.
