Sports minister transfers David Pagou and Timkeu Nguimgou to East region after appointment by FECAFOOT

The Cameroon Football Federation appointed David Pagou as assistant coach of the national team and Timkeu Nguimgou physical trainer, but the two will be expected to show up at their new posts in the East region after a decision signed by the sports ministry.

The move by the ministry which is seen as strategic, came after the two sports officials featured on FECAFOOT’s interim coaching staff appointments for the Indomitable Lions.

FECAFOOT had initially accepted the state-appointed coach Marc Brys, but their fallout on Tuesday during the meeting at the federation’s head office in Tsinga, made the federation to reverse its decision.

The chances of having the FECAFOOT interim coaching staff get into function looked less likely after the MINSEP decision and the meeting held at the ministry on Wednesday. During the meeting which FECAFOOT representatives attended, it was reasserted that all efforts will be put to ensure that Marc Brys and his team are in the best conditions to face Cape Verde and Angola for the World Cup qualifiers.

The matches will be played in Yaounde on June 8, and in Luanda on June 11 respectively.
