Inhabitants of the Marche Central neighborhood in Douala, experienced an explosion, Thursday, which adds to the series of IED detonations recorded in the past weeks in the nation’s capital Yaounde.
The incident at Marche Central was very frightful as residents said, though no major casualties were recorded, given the incomplete composition of the explosive device.
“Thank God, the experts said there were at least three ingredients that were lacking in the improvised explosive” an eyewitness told reporters.
He said the bomb was dropped by individuals on a bike “the two dropped a Mbanjock bag. At the interior, there was a car battery with little rods. Immediately as it exploded, the wires and rods could be seen scattered on the ground”.
The incident occurred in the afternoon at about 3:30 pm.
