Kengni Fidele, mother of four in Douala, is a woman who has braved the odds to venture into an activity that is considered male-dominated.
The 37-year-old is able to fend for her family, by supporting her husband in his business activity which deals with the repairs of worn-out tyres of cars.
Speaking to Equinox TV, she said she got into the activity because of unemployment and high cost of living in the country.
Her husband counts himself lucky to have such a wife. He said the whole family, including their four children, are all part of the activity.
“I have four children with her. All my kids have been trained equally. When I’m not around, they do the work. While at work, she is my colleague and not my wife” Kengni Fidele’s husband stated.
According to the woman, despite the fact that her work gets her dirty, she creates time to make herself beautiful like other ladies. “Don’t only stay at home because you want to remain pretty.
“I equally beautify myself. Look at my hands, when I’m at work, I work. Look at all of my body is dirty, but when I want to do my makeup I do it, I put my nails” she indicated.
Kengni Fidele also highlighted that she has been in the business for 15 years, and has drawn much admiration from clients.
