The day 14 fixture of the Elite Two championship between Unisport of Bafang and Victoria United on Sunday February 12, was interrupted towards the end by irate fans contesting a decision taken by the referee.
Boyomo Biguemi, central referee of the match at the Bafang Municipal Stadium, awarded a penalty to visiting side Victoria United, who were being led 0-1.
Unisport fans didn’t consider the decision a fair one. They got provoked and invaded the pitch, attacking the match officials.
The incident halted the match in the 86th minute.
There have been calls for a sanction on the Bafang side which is at the top of the table with 21 points.
In a club statement, the President of Unisport Donald Ngameni, has condemned violence in stadiums, calling for sporting fair play.
