Emmanuel Macron writes letter to President Paul Biya!

On the occasion of the 48th National day(20th May 2020) celebrations, French President; Emmanuel Macron, writes a letter to Paul Biya
In the letter:
After recalling the friendship that binds the French and Cameroonian people, and his desire to work to strengthen it, Emmanuel Macron writes that the “serious health and economic crisis, caused by COVID-19, which we all face in our territories, reminds us of the values of mutual aid and solidarity between States.”
Regarding the crisis in the English speaking regions, the French President affirms:
“You know the concerns that I have concerning the situation in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, which we have discussed on several occasions. Significant efforts have been made since the summer, but they will not bear fruit as long as acts of violence which have deliberately targeted civilian populations go unpunished.”
“… I remain convinced that only a political and inclusive dialogue will, notably through the rapid implementation of the conclusions of the Major National Dialogue, restore calm in these two regions and beyond.”- he writes.
He ended the letter by renewing the availability of France to support Cameroon in the search for solutions to the Anglophone crisis, while reaffirming the solidarity of his country in the fight that Cameroon is waging against the Boko Haram terrorist group.
