PM Dion Ngute, has reiterated the need for acceleration in the implementation of the special reconstruction plan, for the Far North region of Cameroon.
He called on the partners concerned to speed up the activities in order to create an impact on the lives of the population.
Chief Dr. Joseph Dion Ngute, was speaking in Yaounde on Tuesday 28 September, while chairing an inter-ministerial meeting, dedicated to the special plan. The session examined efforts made in the domains of road, energy and infrastructure amongst others.
Mijiyawa Bakari, Governor of the Far North, acknowledged that much progress had been made. “We noticed that much has been done, as far as this plan is concerned. Different Ministers have presented their plan of action” the regional Administrator said after Tuesday’s meeting.
“The Minister of Public Works has authorized the Minister of Public Contracts, to sign a document to facilitate companies to go ahead” the Governor added. Key areas for the projects targeted, were indicated to be in the domains of road, energy and infrastructure, in order to make the population feel the direct impact of the plan.
It is worth noting that the special reconstruction plan for the Far North region, was created to help uplift the state of infrastructure in the area destroyed over the past years, due to conflicts and terrorist attacks.
