Cameroon’s Head of State Paul Biya, has encouraged vigilante groups in the Far North region of the country in their efforts to contain Boko Haram activities in the region.
This was done through the handing of security material to the vigilante groups in order to enable them adopt new strategies against the terrorist group. The representative of the Head of State, Governor Mijiyawa Bakari, started distributing the material to the vigilante groups of the Mayo-Tsanaga division “the Head of State has asked the vigilante committee to see how to accompany our forces of law and defense with information to help them react on time” the Governor said.
The security material made available for the groups included phones, machetes and whistles for their reinforcement. They were happy to receive the support “we are very grateful to the Head of State for this gesture, all we’re asking now is for more sophisticated material to make us more efficient on the field” the Mayo-Tsanaga vigilante leader said.
The Far North Governor Mijiyawa Bakari, will visit other Boko Haram affected divisions for the same activity in the days ahead
