Two weeks to the FECAFOOT Election, six presidential hopefuls have been confirmed to be fully eligible for the polls, while two others are still pending final approval out of the eight that had declared their intentions to contest for the top job.
The list of the candidates was published, Thursday, with incumbent President Seidou Mbombo Njoya, Samuel Etoo, Jules Denis Onana, Wandja Zacharie, Tagouh Justin, and Nyamsi Jean Crepin Soter, declared eligible for the elections on December 11, 2021.
As it stands, not all eight candidates who initially deposited their documents for the FECAFOOT election have met all the requirements. The two rejected candidates; Emmanuel Mabouang Kessack and Manuel Boyomo, have 48 hours from the date of announcement November 25, to be complete.
The electoral commission headed by Gilbert Schlik, is expected to make a final decision on the two candidates by December 2, before invitations are sent to the delegates for the Elective General Assembly that will be held on December 11.
The Cameroon Football Federation has been headed for the past three years by Seidou Mbombo Njoya, who became President in 2018, although his election was later declared invalid in January 15, 2021.
