FECAFOOT has addressed the claims made by Le Coq Sportif, accusing the football governing body of terminating their contract arbitrarily.
In a release signed by the Federation’s lawyer Florian Mbayen-Hebga on August 9, 2022, details of why the contract was terminated have been laid out.
The information indicates that the French kit supplier’s accusations are not valid.
According to the FECAFOOT statement, Le Coq Sportif has been rather disrespecting the confidentiality clauses they signed with the federation.
It is also revealed that Le Coq Sportif had failed to make payments as stipulated by their contract. Despite waiting for 60 days after the deadline, nothing was received, which obliged the Federation to look for a new supplier.
The new kit manufacturer is expected to be announced in the days ahead, after a thorough examination of the three final suppliers whose documents had be retained following an application process.
