After heated deliberations in the Commission for Decentralisation, there was a resolution that going forward, there should be re-inforced and effective Decentralisation in all the eight regions of the country, excluding the North West and the South West, and that the North West and South West should have a “special status.”
One of the members of the Commission; Edouard Akame Mfoumou stated that Article 62 of the constitution makes provision for the possibility of the South West and North West to go with Federalism while the other eight regions practice effective Decentralisation.
