Four Military men shot to death in Manyu Division; South West Region by armed band!

Senior military officials in the Southwest Region report that the four military men stationed in the town of Agborkem-German, Manyu Division, Southwest Region, were attacked by an armed band. This happened on the night of yesterday, Tuesday November 28th.

They point out that four soldiers namely Sergeant Teh Julius, Master Corporal Foula Foula, Yinda and Noutchoumwo were shot dead by the attackers. The same source reports that three weapons, type M21, AK47 and MAG were taken away by the attackers.

The bodies of the four soldiers were transported to the mortuary of the Mamfe hospital and the army launched a search operation to find the attackers.

It should be noted that eight soldiers have been killed in the Northwest and Southwest regions in less than a month. In its report published on October 19, 2017, the International Crisis Group (ICG) warned Cameroon against a possible armed uprising in English-speaking areas.

The ICG had noted that because of “deadly repression,” the ranks of English-speaking secessionists are increasing day by day, and some separatists are more vocal about the idea of armed struggle or “self-defense.” The institution had invited the Head of State, Paul Biya, “to take responsibility” and “act faster” in the North West and South West regions where the “deadly crackdown” of authorities against protesters fuel a risk of an “armed insurrection”.
