France President plays gala match to raise funds for charity

France President, Emmanuel Macron, played the operation yellow coins (Pieces Jaunes) match in France on Wednesday, April 24, alongside other world personalities, to raise money to support the health of children and teenagers.

Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o participated, as well as Dider Drogba, Arsene Wenger and French national team coach Dider Deschamps among others.

The Varietes Club de France, that organizes charity matches, formed one team that had former players and media personalities, and the other team comprising caregivers.

Emmanuel Macron, who played as a midfielder, was participating for the second time after doing so in 2021. His wife Brigitte Macron, the President of the Pieces Jaunes charity foundation, was among the spectators.

The Pieces Jaunes (Operation Yellow Coins) organisation created in 1989, aims to improve the conditions of hospitalized children and adolescents. It organizes events to raise money used to improve the lives of children and teenagers during and after hospitalization.
