The U20 Lions of Cameroon are the football gold medalists of the 2023 Francophone Games in Kinshasa.
Cameroon defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final at the Martyrs Stadium on Sunday. The game wrapped up the Francophone tournament which took place from July 28 to August 6.
A 186-member delegation from Cameroon took part in the games which featured several artistic and sports disciplines like football, basketball, boxing, judo, table tennis, and athletics.
Over forty Francophonie member countries, mostly French-speaking, and former colonies of France, took part in the competition.
The games were first organized in 1989, and take place every four years.
