The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have played their last test match ahead of the Qatar World Cup, sharing spoils with Central American side, Panama.
The encounter at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, ended in a 1-1 tie, obtained with goals from Cameroon’s Choupo Moting and Michael Murillo for Panama.
Rigobert Song’s team knew they had taken full control of the game when Bayern goal poacher Choupo, replaced Vincent Aboubakar and broke the silence in the 48th minute.
Their lead did not last long, as they conceded seven minutes later. The equalization came through a free kick, which Michael Murillo slotted near the far-right post beyond Andre Onana’s reach.
All attempts to settle the game by both sides thereafter were futile.
Notwithstanding, a number of Cameroon players gained more admiration from fans at the end of the friendly. This included the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Zambo Anguissa and Choupo Moting.
The world awaits the African giants in Qatar, where the 2022 World Cup kicks off on November 20. The Indomitable Lions will play their first game four days later against Switzerland.
