So if you have been following what is going on in The Gambia lately, you would be aware that during the elections in December last year; a new president; Adama Barrow, was voted, over president Yahya Jammeh, who has been president of The Gambia since 1994.
The out-going president; Yahya Jammeh, refused to accept the results. He doesn’t want president-elect, Adama Barrow to be inaugurated as president. He even applied to the Supreme court to stop president-elect; Adama Barrow‘s inauguration, but the chief justice refused to rule on the issue.
President elect; Adama Barrow, is now in Senegal for his safety, until after Thursday, which is the slated day for the inauguration.
His son, the 8 year old Habibu Barrow, was mysteriously bitten by a dog. On his way to the hospital, in Manjai, near The Gambian capital, Banjul, he died.
President elect; Adama Barrow, couldn’t even attend his son’s funeral because he was urged to stay in Senegal for his safety.
Habibu Barrow is one of his five children from his two wives. He is a Muslim man.
