The bus of Ghana’s premier league club Asante Kotoko was involved in an accident late Wednesday night at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region of Ghana injuring team members, Africa news reports.
The bus, returning from Ghana’s capital Accra to the team’s base in Kumasi, is reported to have crashed into a stationary truck loaded with rice.
Kotoko confirmed the accident via its Twitter page saying some of the team members are receiving treatment at a hospital in the town.

Some members of the team were trapped in the bus after the crash and their colleagues who were following the bus in a convoy helped rescue them, local media report.
The actual number of the injured is unknown, however unconfirmed reports say a technical team member is dead while the coach and other players were severely injured.
The team was returning from a match with Accra-based Inter Allies football club which beat them by 1-0.
Asante Kotoko, also known as the Porcupine Warriors are champions of the Ghana Premier League a record 24 times, and have won the CAF Champions League twice.
