President Alassane Ouatarra on Friday, October 6, dissolved his government and sacked the Prime Minister Patrick Achi.
Without giving any reasons, the Secretary-General of the presidency Aboudramane Cisse made the announcement on Friday, indicating that the sacked officials will remain temporarily in charge until the new government and PM are appointed.
“The president expresses his gratitude to Prime Minister Patrick Achi and to all members of the government for their commitment to serving the nation over the past years,” Cisse said.
It is worth noting that Alassane Ouattara had announced plans last year to cut ministerial positions in order to reduce the size of his cabinet.
Presidential elections are coming up in 2025. However, the incumbent has not yet declared his intentions to run for the polls.
