The Minister of Higher Education Jacques Fame Ndongo, has said Universities will receive more students this 2021/2022 academic year following the high success rate in the last session of the GCE Advanced Level and the Baccalaureat Examinations.
He made the statement on September 30, in Yaounde, during the cabinet meeting for September chaired by Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.
The cabinet meeting dwelt on the last examination sessions and preparations for the 2021/2022 academic year.
For the new academic year which starts on the 5th of October 2021, the Minister of Higher Education Jacques Fame Ndongo, said Universities and Higher Institutions of learning in the country, are expecting to receive some 169,766 applicants.
In order to handle the high level of applications, Minister Jacques Fame Ndongo has said measures tested last academic year such as the use of online classes, the splitting of online courses and the rotation of lecturers shall be put to use.
