Without giving much detail of the new military approach to be adopted by the defense forces, in the ongoing war against secessionist fighters, Defense Minister, Joseph Beti Assomo, emphasized the need to quickly respond to the recent sophisticated developments observed on the side of the separatist fighters.
He insisted the measures will soon go operational “the new paradigm of the security situation which is already in the process of consolidation in this region as in that of the Southwest, warrants a change of approach in the actions of the Defense and Security forces” the Minister said during his visit to the Northwest region on September 22.
“I cannot give you here the details of the appropriate readjustments and actions which will be deployed without delay. Because in this matter, action cannot go hand-in-hand with incantation” he added.
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in Charge of Defense profited from his in camera meeting with top defense officials in Bamenda to reaffirm the determination and commitment of the defense and security forces in defending the territorial integrity of the country against terrorists.
