The Minister of Public Health Manaouda Malachie, has visited both the Yaounde Central Hospital and the family that accused the health facility of causing the death of their son.
Dr Malachie whose main objective was to finally set up an investigation committee to probe into the incident, explained that he was not around when the situation happened.
“Now what did I understand about the incident…The personnel described to me what happened. It is unacceptable that we continue to observe violence against health personnel. It is not normal.
The Minister said they also went to express their condolences to the family that is in grief after the loss of their son. “You know I was not there when all this happened. So when I came back to the town it was necessary that I first visit the Yaounde Central Hospital and then come here to the family to not only ask their version of facts but also to extend the condolences of the government. You know very well that for the President of the Republic his excellency Paul Biya, when we lose a Cameroonian, he is affected”
Minister Manaouda Malachie said the public needs to understand, it is not easy for the medical personnel and that if there is any complicated incident, legal measures should be taken.
