Former CPDM central committee member Messanga Nyamding was permanently suspended from the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement a week ago for indiscipline, but has since insisted he remains a fervent follower of Paul Biya.
In reaction to the situation, the Minister of Labour and Social Security who is also Assistant Secretary-General of the CPDM central committee, has said “if Mr Messanga Nyamding has been sanctioned, he knows what he has to do if he wants to stay with the CPDM”.
Minister Gregoire Owona was speaking on CRTV’s ‘Actualite Hebdo’ where he said the decision taken by the Head of State Paul Biya, was legal and followed a legal path.
Before his dismissal, Pr Pascal Charlemagne Nyamding Messanga was summoned by the CPDM disciplinary ad hoc committee on April 13, after complaints had been raised of him speaking against other members of the ruling political party.
He was called for questioning alongside two others Nkpwala Wielfried and Mpon Francois Xavier. The latter was given a 12-month suspension.
