A partnership has been signed between the Ministry of Arts and Culture and French network of NGOs, France Volontaires, aimed at training the staff of the National Museum on how they can manage and preserve the country’s heritage.
The Inspector-General in the Ministry of Arts and Culture, Theophile Eyango, made the information public in Yaounde on Wednesday 4 July, 2021. The Deputy Director of the National Museum, then laid down the objectives of the structure “the museum is first of all a public space that is open to everybody. We have first of all the mission of portraying the culture of Cameroon to Cameroonians and then to the rest of the world. So we need appropriate Communication.
“France Volontaires is coming to help us in this domain to beef up the communication plan that was put in place so that they can touch the population of Cameroon and others to come to the Museum and on the other hand to improve on the competence of the staff of the museum in terms of the collections that we have in terms of the development of pedagogic tools in the museum” The Deputy General told the National Station.
He indicated that all of the efforts they are putting in are meant to increase the visits to the museum.
