Inhabitants of the Mbipgo, Seh and Mbohnjong villages in the Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest region, filled the streets leading to the Ndu DO’s office Thursday, June 16, in protest against the killing of two indigenes of their locality by armed Mbororos.
The population turned out massively to condemn the murder of Ngala Genesis and Tamfu Christian, while accusing the government of sponsoring the Mbororo militia in their attacks, reports say.
“Mr. Ngala Genesis alias Ngala TK was shot right in his room in Mbipgo and the other person Mr. Tamfu Christian was shot in Kashi near Government Technical College Mbipgo,” a local told MMI.
The source disclosed that the youth of Mbipgo attempted to follow the attackers, but were repelled with gunshots which enabled the armed men to disappear.
This recent attack constitutes part of a long-standing conflict that has been existing between Fulani cattle rearers and farmers in Ndu.
