Tottenham Hotspur forward Njie Clinton has been side-lined for the second time this year, in the pre-selection list of players to represent Cameroon in the upcoming FIFA Confederations cup.
Team Coach Hugo Broos made public his squad of 30 preselected players on May 17, in a bid to prepare them early ahead of the Confederations Cup in Russia, and block training for the upcoming 2019 AFCON qualifiers against Morocco.
Clinton Njie, who rose to prominence during Cameroon’s match against the Democratic Republic of Congo on September 6, 2014 in Lubumbashi, miss out on the list, alongside former team skipper Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Goal keeper Andre Onana returns to the team, and will be hoping to make his senior international debut for the five-time African champions, albeit being one of seven players to snub this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Among the players called up are 4 goal keepers, 10 attackers, 10 defenders and 6 mid fielders, who are expected to show up at the training ground in Yaounde on 29 May.
