Nollywood records another death again. 42 year old Nollywood star Moji Olaiya passed away this morning Thursday May 18th in a hospital in California after giving birth two months ago to a baby girl. This child happens to be her 2nd child as her first daughter is 18.
Some sources say she died of heart attack while others say she died from possible complications from her child birth.
Moji was the daughter of high life music legend Victor Olaiya and was with her second husband a year after her first marriage ended in 2008. She featured in many Yoruba as well as English movies.
Two of her close friends, Saheed Balogun and Opeyemi Aiyeola have expressed shock and disbelief at the passing of the actress. Speaking to a correspondent of THENETNG on the phone, Saheed confirmed the story:
“This is sad, really sad. Moji is dead. I just spoke to one of her people in Canada. The person was just crying and crying so it’s hard to get the exact details from her right now”.
Opeyemi Aiyeola on the other hand confirmed the story via her post on instagram
“Pls somebody wake me up and tell me it’s a joke! Pls tell me it’s April fools day! Pls tell me she’s still with us! Pls tell me HER LIGHT IS NOT OUT YET” @mojisolaabikeade .
