The recently enthroned Fon of Oku, HRM Ngum IV, has encouraged his subjects at home and beyond to act without fear, as they embark on an ambitious journey this new year 2022.
Fon Ngum IV’s words of encouragement were part of a new year message, contained in a communique signed by the monarch on December 30, 2021. He said they intend to embark on more enterprising initiatives this year.
“I urge you all to join us to dream big, pray big, and act on our big ambitions without fear. The land and the airwaves of Oku have been dedicated to the almighty God” the king said, adding that “those who continue with antiquated witchcraft practices and those harassing the population, will only have themselves to blame when they face the consequences of their actions henceforth.”
Notwithstanding, the Fon appreciated all “sons and daughters of Oku,” who have not forgotten their homeland, despite being in the diaspora or out of town within the country. “I could see even from a distance, your love for Oku” he said.
The graduate from the Faculty of Law and Political Science in the University of Bamenda, took over from Fon Sintieh II who joined his ancestors last year on May 6th. Since the new Fon’s official enthronement on the 18th of December 2021, he has firmly emphasized the role of God in his piloting of the affairs of Oku.
