The Minister of Sports and Physical Education Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, was speaking during the inspection of the Olembe Stadium on Tuesday, November 30th, the deadline given by CAF for the football facility to be ready.
He made the public understand that official reception of the stadium, does not mean works will stop.
“The works that we begin with today, do not put an end to the presence of all actors on the field, but on the contrary, this presence is required before, during and even after the AFCON, because we are in a dynamic process” the Sports Minister stated.
Prof. Narcisse Mouelle Kombi had announced that “the official ceremony to take ownership of the infrastructure is scheduled for Friday, December 3rd 2021 as from 11:00 am”.
The AFCON in Cameroon will run from January 9th to February 6th 2022, with the opening and closing ceremonies expected to take place at the Olembe Sports Complex.
