Onana penalty save, Maguire goal boost United’s morale

Manchester United have regained momentum in the UEFA Champions League campaign after a one-nil victory over Copenhagen in their third group stage game.

The Group A encounter followed straight defeats in United’s last two Champions League matches, over which Andre Onana faced severe backlash for inconsistency. The Red Devils lost against Bayern 4-3 and later to Galatasaray 2-3.

The victory against Copenhagen on Tuesday, came as a breakthrough, which Andre Onana credited Harry Maguire for. The two players emerged as the heroes of the day, with Harry scoring the lone goal and Andre Onana saving a penalty in the 95th minute.

“We had to win this game, an important goal from Harry, good safe” the Cameroonian goalkeeper said. “The victory gave us confidence for the upcoming games, it’s not going to be easy” he added.

The Premier League powerhouse have not been impressive in the past weeks. The side occupy the eighth spot on the classification table.
