Orange Cameroon offers the African Cup of Nations(AFCON) and football fans, an anthem entitled “Tu joues même quoi?”
This mischievous title formulated in “Cameroonian” French is taken from certain lyrics of the song and was retained on purpose.
It can also be used to challenge opponents before the match, that is, to encourage the team that we support, even if they loose, all while continuing to dance.
The song is a Pan-African Concept of the local Cameroonian rhythm called “Mbolé”, a sound which is trending in Yaoundé, which became a national vibe, just a year ago by the genius of an artiste still in high school, whom Orange Cameroon is lucky enough to have on the project: Happy d’Effoulan.
The song readily adapts to the footsteps of the dances popular in several countries of the continent, Tonton Issa can testify. Watch the video here: https://bit.ly/3JzxMat
In the video, you will discover the colors, the drums and the fans of all the countries participating in the AFCON.
The 3 artistes who perform there are the 3 winners of the main musical activation of Orange Cameroon in 2021: Starnews Urban Hit Show By Orange. One innovative program with a strong CSR orientation which enabled Orange to offer additional income for artists during the COVID period thanks to monetized channels that fans could connect to, as long as they paid about 50 Fcfa per day.
The promise was to offer some kind of teleworking to artists who thanks to Orange could produce content, post on private channels and obtain income generated by the subscription through paid SMS containing links to access content.
Also recall that this Starnews Urban Hit Show By Orange program allowed the 3 artistes (Happy d’Effoulan, Maahlox and Mink’s) to win unpublished fees in the history of Cameroonian music (more than 50,000 euros in 3 months)!
Last but not least, the scenario which presents a fan’s journey to the match, reminds us of how much football can unite and reconcile, a true message of hope for Africa in general and Cameroon in particular, threatened for several years by the virus of the division. As the Cameroonian slogan says “the AFCON will be sweet” and we are waiting for you all to dance the “Mbolé”. #OrangeSponsorsYou #TotalEnergiesAFCON2021
