The General Manager of PAMOL Plantations, Solomon Tapea Mbile, has a huge task of boosting the morale of his workers following incidents in which some of them are being targeted.
A day ago, the company’s laboratory technician was murdered, reportedly by separatist fighters in Ekondo Titi, Ndian Division of the Southwest region. The incident which is one among several other gruesome acts, is getting PAMOL workers scared.
The General Manager of the corporation has said they try to remind the workers of their realities when faced with such situations “Each time these things happen, we rush there, gather workers and remind them of our realities.
“When your fellow worker dies in active service, to me what I always tell them is ‘this worker has paid the ultimate price, he died trying to serve the company, the community and nation as a whole so what should we do, turn our backs run away! So all those who have fallen in the line of duty, they would have shed their blood in vain” Tapea Mbile.
PAMOL Plantations is one of the companies badly affected by the crisis in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon. They now have just about 500 workers, from over 2000 last year.
